What is compliance?
Navigating campaign finance regulations can be complex and challenging. Knowing exactly how much money you have to spend is critical. Filing timely reports is a must. Blue Wave Political Partners can guide your campaign by providing compliance, reporting and accounting services. We have a deep understanding of reporting requirements and can ensure that your campaign’s efforts remain compliant with the relevant laws and regulations.

Reporting & Compliance
All campaign data will be entered in reporting software for FEC reporting purposes.
All required FEC disclosure reports will be filed in a timely manner and reviewed for accuracy: contribution limits, duplicate records, employer and occupation information, purpose code, grammar, etc. Blue Wave will file any necessary 48-hour reports, amendments and RFAI requests.
Please note, Blue Wave services do not include the preparation of candidate’s personal financial disclosures.
Failure to comply with applicable laws can have far reaching consequences on a political organization, from financial penalties levied against the campaign and its officers to negative publicity. Blue Wave recognizes the importance of helping its clients comply with applicable FEC and state regulations.
Blue Wave will aid the campaign in following federal election campaign finance law where it pertains to contributions, disbursements and reporting activity. Blue Wave will communicate with the campaign and its counsel to discuss potential compliance issues when necessary.

Accounting
Receipts
Blue Wave will review each contribution for permissibility and limits, enter the data into the accounting/reporting database, maintain copies for document retention purposes, and correctly code applicable contributions based on the campaign’s internal guidelines.
Receipts will be entered into the reporting database within 48 hours of receipt, deposited, batched, and reconciled against bank accounts.
Disbursements
Blue Wave will issue checks to vendors upon receipt of approved invoices. Blue Wave will also ensure that disbursements are in accordance with FEC regulations.
Blue Wave will enter all disbursement activity into the accounting/reporting database and will reconcile against the campaign’s bank accounts. Blue Wave will obtain W 9 forms and process all 1099 forms for applicable disbursements in accordance with IRS instructions.
Blue Wave can facilitate any payroll needs for the campaign. This will include processing new hires and periodic processing via a payroll service. Blue Wave will also ensure all W2 forms are processed and delivered to employees.
Budgeting, Cash Flow, Accounting Reports
It will be very important for the campaign to have an organized and accurate set of accounting records so that cash flow and budgetary requirement realities can be monitored.
Blue Wave will track all contribution and disbursement activity in the accounting/reporting software as well as reconcile the data against the bank statements each month. Reconciling bank statements to the campaign software ensures that the campaign has an accurate understanding of its financial situation.
Current cash-on-hand totals and Profit & Loss statements will be made available as requested, or on a schedule useful to the committee.
